Why an Advocate?

Ensuring your child has a well-written IEP is the first step to a successful transition into adulthood. The IEP process starts as early as Pre-K, we provide advocate services for all grades and ages. It is important to review your child's transition section and post-secondary plans as soon as they turn 12 ( FL, HB 173).

FREE services: Send us your child's IEP draft to review prior to the meeting.  45 min consulting meeting.

Our Advocates speak English, Spanish, and Creole.

You should ensure your advocate has the following:

  • A degree in special education (Masters or higher)
  • Years of experience working with various disabilities
  • Has classroom or school related experience
  • Good standing with various districts
  • Continuous education and training in special education law, state laws, & IEP updates

The purpose of an advocate is to support the family and ensure the child is receiving the accurate services.

Advocates should be knowledgeable, educated, respectful, experienced, and resourceful.

An advocate's job is to ensure the parent's concerns are heard, recorded, and honored.

We focus on supporting the child and family while bringing solutions to the table.

We strive to provide parents with advocates who are trained, educated, and in ethical standing with the state and Florida districts.

Advocates are NOT lawyers. We are teamed up with various law firms who are ready to help defend your rights in court.
